What makes a relationship with someone of another race,
religion or ethnicity so challenging?

Often couples dealing with different backgrounds are not aware
of how much their conflicts may because of their differences.  
The differences often cause an imbalance in power.

A Caucasian in a mixed relationship usually does not
understand the oppression a person of color has experienced in
their life.  The White person may easily hurt their partner
because of their lack of knowledge of racism.
