San Francisco relationship and couples counseling
    When a couple decides to work on their relationship, they have made a
    courageous step. It may seem that they have no choice. However, just
    the fact they show up in our offices shows a sense of commitment.

    I believe that the answers to the problems that exist in a relationship lie
    within the couple. My role is to help them communicate, but not force
    them.

    Often it is difficult for a couple to distinguish between what are "my
    issues," what are my "partner's issues" and what are our "issues as a
    couple." Whatever the answer, shedding light on this is a key to
    ultimate understanding.

Conflict can be healthy!!!
    Many of the great lessons of an individual's life come from working
    through conflict.

    The biggest problem is that most people have not experienced healthy
    conflict resolution. I work with couples, families and even businesses
    to provide space for conflict to happen and be supported and resolved.

    Unexpressed conflict causes much resentment: relationships become
    burdensome and cumbersome. The people who we love the most
    begin to look like enemies.

"Power Dynamics in Relationship"
    Most times couples are not aware of how the advantages of one
    person in the relationship can deeply affect the other. Issues such as
    educational level, psychological awareness, spiritual growth, emotional
    awareness and earned income can easily affect the couple.

    These advantages can be used in support of the relationship or can be
    utilized as weapons.

    Our center lead workshops on "Power Dynamics in Relationship." This
    is a revolutionary way to look at the ways individual and cultural power
    can unconsciously hurt partners. The dynamics are very similar for
    heterosexual couples as well as queer couples, so the workshops are
    open to all.
